“Shelley Pearson was recommended to me to provide expert assistance to help document a project that seeks to develop an innovative way of dealing with prolific offenders. The project (a national pilot), recognised both nationally and internationally, requires joint working between the agencies within the Criminal Justice System with shared responsibilities and decision making whereas normally those agencies would be wholly independent and is therefore very complex in nature and was still in a state of development. I met with Shelley to both explain what I wanted to achieve and assess whether she was likely to be able to complete it successfully. At that first meeting I was immediately struck by the way in which she grasped the key features and finer detail of the programme. Despite the fact that she had no technical knowledge of the Criminal Justice System she was able to quickly understand the concept of it and present some draft process models which gave me great confidence in her abilities from an early stage, that confidence in her has continued. As I had not previously been involved in commissioning and working with an external consultant, Shelley has provided clarity to the task which she has staged and provided a plan to monitor progress, I have found this to be a great help whilst managing an evolving programme.
